Knowing Christ Experientially

Delving into the profound dimensions of understanding the excellence of Christ unveils a multifaceted journey, distinct yet interconnected.

I see from Phil 3:10, that apostle Paul embarked on a transformative odyssey by receiving a divine revelation that enabled him to fathom the unparalleled greatness of Christ. This revelation served as the foundational bedrock upon which Paul's subsequent actions and convictions were built. The profundity of his knowledge spurred him to make a conscious decision to place a transcendent value on Christ, surpassing all other considerations, deeming everything else as loss and refuse in comparison.

The intricacy of Paul's pursuit did not conclude with a theoretical grasp of Christ's excellence; rather, it propelled him into a realm of experiential intimacy with the Saviour. Paul's fervent desire extended beyond mere intellectual awareness; he ardently longed to "know Him" on a profound, personal level, craving a connection that surpassed doctrinal objectivity. This yearning encompassed a desire to comprehend not only the theoretical aspects of Christ's character but also to immerse himself into the transformative power of His resurrection.

The dichotomy between knowing the excellency of Christ through revelation and truly knowing Christ through experience is evident in Paul's epistles. Revelation served as the gateway to understanding, but it was through a dynamic, ongoing experience that Paul truly grasped the essence of Christ. The experiential knowledge he sought transcended mere information, inviting a transformative engagement with the person of Christ.

Paul's journey did not culminate in theoretical knowledge; rather, it blossomed into a rich tapestry of experiential encounters with the living Christ. His desire to "know Him" extended beyond cognitive understanding to a profound engagement with the power of Christ's resurrection. This experiential knowledge required a departure from the confines of natural life, urging believers to venture into the realm of the supernatural—the power of Christ's resurrection.

In essence, I remind and implore you to embark on this journey to experience and to partake in the transformative and resurrection power that defines Christ's nature. I beckons on you all to move beyond the realm of theoretical understanding and immerse yourselves in the dynamic and life-altering experience of Christ. Just as Paul exemplified, knowing Christ is not a passive acquisition of information; it is an active, continuous engagement with the living Saviour, drawing upon the boundless resources found in the power of His resurrection.
