The reason and how salvation comes
✓What are saved from?
We are saved from the Consequences of our Sin and the Clutches of death and Satan.
The major theme of deliverance in the NT is deliverance from God’s wrath. 1Thes1:10 and Rom5:9.
Salvation speaks of receiving deliverance from our greatest problem: namely the consequences of sin against Holy God.
✓By Whom are we Saved?
In Acts 16:30, Jesus is the only means by which men will be saved. Scripture make it clear that: The way of unbelief is to trust in self or in other thing for salvation. Psalm 20 shows that the way of belief is to not trust inn chariots or horses but to trust in the name of the Lord. 1Timothy1:15, Jesus came into the world to save sinner & Matthew 1:21; If he/she is to be saved will be saved through Jesus Christ.
✓What are we saved to?
We are saved from Sin and brought back to God. Scripture speaks of the many benefit of salvation. John 8:36 “We are rescued from bondage and brought into freedom. Rom 5:1, we are saved from wrath and brought into Peace with God.
Sin once brought havoc and wreckage, the gospel brings life. Greatest one is that of RECONCILIATION.
✓How do we receive Salvation?
Christy done what is necessary for us to be saved, but that gift is not appropriated apart from FAITH.
In Eph 2, we are dead in our trespasses and sin, and God make us alive. When our eyes are opened to the beauty of Gospel and the accomplishment of Christ then our only fitting response is to respond in Repentance and Belief.
Repentance means that we are changing our mind about God and about ourselves. Laying down our foolish effort to save ourselves, turning away from self-sufficiency and turning towards Jesus. We trust that He alone is the one who can save us. We are entrusting ourselves to Him.
It is by Grace we are saved through Faith…it is the gift of God (Ephesians 2:8), which mean that salvation is a Gift God. Halleluyah!!!
Faith is simply that which links us to Christ Jesus. It’s that which reaches out and grabs ahold of the work of Christ.
The most important aspect of our repentance and faith is its object. When we place our faith and trust in Christ, the scriptures says we are saved. Joel 2:32; Acts 2:21; Roman 10;13.
Our hope of salvation rest upon the union with Christ. 2Timothy 1:9; 1Corithians 1:18; Roman 5:9.
